new UltraPort USB to
Serial Adaptors. As customers migrate to newer machines with few
or no serial ports and/or no free PCI slots, USB adapters allow the continued
use of existing serial devices through the extra USB ports found on new
desktop and server hardware.
The new Perle UltraPort USB to Serial Adapter quickly and reliably
provides 1, 2, 4 or 8 RS232 serial communication ports to a system.
The UltraPort USB enumerates itself as a standard COM port so users
can continue to deploy standard serial devices or add new ones such
as modems, POS equipment, PDAs, digital cameras, and serial printers.
The RS232 ports, with baud rates up to 230 Kbps, make it suitable
for retail, industrial, data collection and other applications requiring
high-speed communication ports.
The USB to Serial Adapter comes with plug-&-play capability and
includes a 6-foot (1.8 meter) cable and robust 15kv ESD surge protection
for mission critical environments. This ensures that peripherals can
be conveniently located and protected against unexpected downtime.
